Syed Abdul Aziz achieved his Ph.D. in Breast Cancer Genetics from the University of Karachi, Pakistan. He continued with his postdoctoral training at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is a Professor at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Ottawa, Canada. He also joined Health Canada, Toxicology research division, as a Research Scientist where he had been working on Mouse mammary gland and Mouse Liver cancer with respect to growth hormone, N-methyl-N-nitrosourea, Vomitoxin (p53 heterozygous and wild type), Furan, Perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS), Methyl mercury, Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), Ochratoxin A. His core research interests are Breast Cancer, Oncogenes, Angiogenesis, Apoptosis, Cancer stem cells, and Food Toxicology. Besides this Syed A. Aziz is a Member of various Scientific Societies including the society of Toxicology, Canada, and the External review committee for the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada for the award of grants.  He is associated with Journals like Human Molecular Genetics, BMJ open, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, and PLoS ONE as an active Journal referee.
